Genre is a form of writing. Genres help organize information in way which makes it easier for the reader to know what they are reading about. In our course we had there main pieces of writing in which each had a different genre. Our first main essay was a literacy narrative, where I discussed a personal event that revolved around the idea of literature. The second essay was an expository essay which required me to present objective and unbiased ideas of a certain topic. Our final essay was an argumentative essay in which I had to take a stance and organize my information in a way that the audience understands I am arguing a topic.
